For my first sculpture in Space, I had to use air-dry clay, plus my choice of additional materials, to combine an animal and plant into a sculpture that says something about who I am. I chose to represent how beauty, growth, and change (the lilies) can emerge from stress (the knot).

This next sculpture's main focus was to visually convey a sound in a non-objective form using wire (plus at least one other material) while keeping in mind the concept of line. My sculpture, with its soft, fluid "body" and sharp, metallic section at the "hip" represents the sound of a person walking with their keys attached to a belt and jingling with each step.

Sketchbook and Progress

I've come to learn that creating a three-dimensional sculpture from scratch is not a straightforward process; it required a large amount of concept planning and placed heavy emphasis on documenting my process as I explored materials and techniques.
