For my first Drawing assignment, I was instructed to use all of my graphite tools to reproduce a photograph. The main objective was to familiarize myself with naturalistic drawing and the general to specific method of building up the surface.

A still life display featuring drapery and many different objects was set up in the studio. I drew from life during the class period and finished the drawing over the next few days using photos I had taken of the display.

For the Midterm, displays with shells, wire, and other materials were set up in the studio. I picked an angle (a large portion of visible copper wire was mandatory when choosing an angle), and drew from life across several class periods, and then again finished the drawing using photos I had taken.

In my first experience using charcoal, I was instructed to select a black and white photograph out of a book and reproduce the photo using all of my charcoal materials, again using the general to specific method.

For my Final, I was instructed to create a still life maquette consisting of mandatory copper wire and my choice of materials, as long as they had a variety of textures and values. For mine, I collected items  outside, including leaves, trash and a hawk feather. I then positioned and lit my still life and drew entirely from observation using all of my charcoal materials.
